Nepal Inner Yoga Pilgrimage and Reterat

Our Story

In this seven-day Buddhist Yoga Pilgrimage of Kathmandu Valley, we will visit several sites related to Vajrayogini and Vajravarahi and a curated tour of temples relevant to Nyingma and Kagyu tradition, including Dudjom and Shechen monastery, to pay honors to the lineages associated with the yoga practices we will engage in.

In this special Inner Yoga (anuyoga) retreat and pilgrimage we will connect with these sacred sites through a variety of yogic practices.

From Dec. 20-22 we have rented a gompa for a tsalung retreat, and eligible practitioners can participate in an intensive retreat focused on Inner yoga, including instructions that are not taught elsewhere.

Dec. 23-29 2025 Buddhist Yoga Pilgrimage

During this trip, we will learn and practice various outer (lujong) and inner yoga (tsalung trukhor). Daily sessions of meditation and Tibetan Buddhist yoga, along with instructions on training with the elements, meditations on Guru Rinpoche and practices from the Dakini Heart Essence will be introduced.

No prior yoga experience is necessary (participants can learn many of these practices in our accompanying online course – Sept. thru Nov.)

- Boudha (including the Guru Rinpoche park, Dudjom monastery and Shechen)

- Patan (includes Guru Rinpoche monastery, Golden Temple, Mahaboudha/Vajrayogini)

- Purano Guhyeshvari/Swayambhu/Bijeshwori

- Sankhu (Vajrayogini temple, and other important shrines around such as Swayambhu stupa, Naga shrine and Mahasiddha caves)

- Dollu and Pharping (visiting Dudjom nunnery in Dollu, Guru Rinpoche statue, Asura cave, self-arisen Tara and the Vajrayogini temple)

- Namo Buddha (Thrangu monastery and Chöd practice at Takmo Lujin, where the Buddha offered his flesh to a hungry tigress in past life).

During the pilgrimage from Dec. 23-29 we will have a selection of comfortable lodging options, and will be staying primarily at a hotel and gompa.
