°Summer Course (Online) - from Sutra to Tantra (Meditation and Yoga) ☆☆☆ Early Registration open. ○●For practitioners/educators of Yoga and meditation, these courses provide overviews and access to the latest developments and research, presented from the positionality of a practitioner.
●○For caregivers and clinicians, we also provide the latest neuroscience and mental health applications surrounding the techniques or methods themselves.
♡♡ Why this particular course may be of benefit - participants will explore the notion of "best practice/best (Scheid)" practitioner by exploring 3 months of meditation instruction and inquiry.
□■ Going down the rabbit hole of critical inquiry one may bring more Wisdom to the Methods of practice; i.e. exploring the why's and how's of practice by looking beyond and from without the boundaries of a given tradition, to more deeply situate onself within.
May just shift how one practices or teaches. We are going to look at language, phenomenology and how to more skillfully point out and guide meditative practice.
There is an ocean of instructions. The canons of meditation are a massive edifice - like peering up at Mt. Everest from it's base. The dialogue and extensive resources are aimed at bringing to light the major questions, diversions and fine points of discourse.
FOR EARLY Registration for summer course ($150 early/$200 regular. Venmo: James-Bae-1/Paypal: firstname.lastname@example.org)

Foundations of Yuthok Nyingthik Tsalung Trulkhor
With James Bae
Dates: Mar. 24-29
Location: Pure Land Farms
In this five day, in-person retreat, participants will learn the foundations of tsalung/trulkhor or “winds and channels,” according the Yuthok Nyingthik (Heart Essence) tradition – the spiritual tradition which forms part of the legacy of Yuthok, father of Tibetan Medicine.
The focus of the retreat is to establish a strong theoretical and practical understanding of these profound completion stage method.
Tsalung trulkhor refers to advanced, subtle body yogas, which include some more rigorous exercises. The core practices of the Yuthok Nyingthik are accessible to many. Some intermediate methods will be introduced, to prepare practitioners for further stages of training.
Dr. James has taught individuals and groups of varying skill levels, ages and health status and will adapt the training accordingly.
The retreat schedule will involve both teaching and concentrated, group practice sessions. As Part One of a three-part curriculum, this essential training will support establishing a daily practice, as well as address the needs of more experienced practitioners, as well.
Yuthok Nyingthik tsalung involves accessory practices to the practice of inner fire (tummo) as well as other branches of the completion phase. It is unique in it’s presentation of these yogic methods – especially with regard to the clarity of the instructions. This spring gathering will explore these practices in relation to formal meditation.
This retreat will follow a predominantly traditional format, and will require prerequisites – including completion of the Yuthok Nyingthik ngondro, and familiarity with the generation stage – which will serve as the basis of most practice sessions.
Issues of health concern, prerequisites and commitment to this semi-closed retreat are to be addressed upon application.
Space will be limited to the first fifteen qualifying students.
