Buddhist Psychology: Meditation, Mind Training and Inner Healing - From Sutra to Tantra II
In this six session (live/recorded) fall module we will expand upon topics in the initial Foundations of Buddhist Yoga (Sutra to Tantra I) by exploring how View, Meditation and Conduct are applied.
While deepening our understanding of essential Buddhist meditation practices such as shamatha, vipashyana, compassion practices we will examine how they establish the ground for Tantric and Essence (Nature of Mind practice).
Thus, we will begin from Tantric psychology and the views of Mahamudra and Great Perfection, to explore how mind and mind Essence underlie Buddhist psychological frameworks.
New to this course is the introduction to Vajrayana Buddhist psychology - from the subtle to the ground of awareness.
Students will continue to learn about the core texts and methods of Vajrayana - across traditions. The uniqueness of these curated modules is to provide an “insider’s look”at tradition, while learning how to orient toward sutrayana and Mahayana practices.
